Shapes and Clues – Pre-A0+ English Story 8 🌟

October 1, 2026

The mystery continues!

After finding the cards, Ella, Mia, Tim and Dave have another puzzle to solve. This time, colours and shapes become part of the clues.

The children follow the instructions, search in different places and discover new pieces of the mystery along the way.

Story 8 gives young English learners another opportunity to understand English through actions, objects and context, rather than memorising isolated words.

English vocabulary from the story

In this story, children practise four important combinations of colours and shapes:

red triangle
blue circle
green square
yellow star

They also hear useful everyday words connected with the places and objects around them.

Useful English phrases

Story 8 introduces and repeats simple phrases that children can understand directly from what is happening on screen:

Go to the…
It’s in…
It’s on…
It’s under…
Let’s go!
Let’s drink some water.
Bunny is sitting on the sofa.

These short sentences help children begin to understand how familiar words work together in real English.

Learn through the mystery

The children are not simply naming shapes.

They need to look, listen, follow instructions and use the clues to work out what to do next.

This gives every new word a purpose within the story.

Can Ella, Mia, Tim and Dave solve all four clues?

And where will they lead?

The adventure continues in Story 9: Playground!
